The code of practice has been compiled for The Scottish Government by the Scottish Archaeological Finds Allocation Panel (SAFAP) in conjunction with the Queen's and Lord Treasurer's Rembrancer (QLTR). It is intended to clarify the processes involved throughout the Treasure Trove system. Under Scottish law all portable antiquities of archaeological, historical or cultura; significance are subject to the Crown through the Treasure Trove system and must be reported.
